Chapter 2.34.130 Powers of police--Arrest and detention.

    The chief of police and each policeman of the city shall have the power to arrest or cause to be arrested with or without process, all persons who shall be found in the act of committing a breach of the peace, or shall be found violating any provisions of this code, or other ordinance of the city, or any criminal law of the state and may commit such persons so arrested for examination, and if necessary, detain them in custody overnight or Sunday in the city prison or other safe place, until they can be brought before the proper judge.
